One can only wonder at the provenance of this Stunning 1776 Oak and Iron Dome-top Trunk and the things it has seen! Was it owned by some famous Patriot or by a Revolutionary War Officer? If the Initials "DEB" stand for the name of the Maker, it is possible that this Trunk was owned by George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Paul Revere or somebody else famous. The Initials "DEB" may also stand for whoever commissioned its manufacture but there is no way to know where or by whom this Incredible 'Time Machine' 1776 Trunk was made. Whoever owned it must have been very rich in those days to afford this Incredible One of a Kind Museum Piece!
When this Monumental 1776 Revolutionary War era Trunk / Blanket Chest is Professionally Restored it will be a Monumental Showpiece!!! The Iron work can be treated with "CORROSEAL" or a like product which will turn the Iron Black and prevent it from ever rusting again. Also, the Oak can be cleaned and oiled and brought back to its Original Beautiful Golden Oak Color with "RESTOR-A-FINISH" or a like product. I have not cleaned it or even dusted it,
I have not touched it at all
and will leave the restoration to the Buyer and Professionals. I am selling it just as it is with its Original Dust and Dirt,
Totally Original and Untouched
