INFO.THAT CAME WITH ITEM WHEN ADDED TO OUR MUSEUM: “
Very nice example of an early two prong fork. It is marked STEEL. Nice hard wooden handle. see the glue mark in picture. That is from the sticker noting it was from the Lord collection. I hope it can come out. This was in the Revolutionary War collection of Dr. Francis Lord, noted author, historian, and collector. I was fortunate to have been able to have purchased his Rev War collection just prior to his passing. The fork is approx. 7 inches in length. Unaltered and solid. Great example of a early fork that was in the collection of a very well noted author and pioneer collector.

At age 70 the grand kids have told me that they have no interest in any of the collections in the family’s traveling museum-- MOCAPA. A bit disappointing to hear but well understood in the 21st century. Plus, for me, collecting lacks the attraction that it had in years past as well as the steward collectors. Thanks, joe
