1920s Art Deco Japanese Parasol Silver Handle Pink Silk Crepe Hand Painted
Art Deco Flapper circa 1920's Japanese Parasol~Black Painted Wooden Finial with Black Laquer for top of cover~Fuschia Pink Silk Crepe Pleated Cover with Hand Painting after the cover was applied to the sticks~Probably Bamboo Wooden Ribbing~Wrapped Thread Tassels with one missing~Faux Painted Bamboo Wooden Shaft with a split & probably mechanism is missing to open all the way~Wooden mechanism for pushing up & down shaft to open & close with  wood splints ribs sticks & woven thread underneath cover~Unmarked Silver Repousse Ornamental Figural Handle with Loop
Measurements are 26.5" long when closed not inc silver ring on bottom of handle~Handle is 6" long~Cover is 16" long when closed not inc finial~Cover is 24" around as far as I dare to push it up to open
In Vintage Pre-Owned Condition with minimal to some use~Purchased for my private collection many years ago & stored folded/closed all these years~1 Wrapped Pink Tassel is missing~When open, a few to some pinholes in silk crepe~I am hesitant to push the cover up all the way~A split on one side of upper faux painted wooden bamboo shaft~There is a hollow in the wooden shaft where probably the mechanism for holding the cover was at one time, but appears to be missing?~Handle is unmarked, but intricately designed with surface wear, darkening, needs more polishing~The hand painting of the parasol cover was applied after the cover was adhered to the ribs~No odors~Smoke-free home
