This is a very nice historic giclee print of the 1981 Pipeline Masters contest, printed with archival inks,
cropped
and UNMOUNTED
included top an bottom white margins
which are part of the print that you can see here (see photo)
and its
not
a mat board cutout, printed on Epson pro photo paper. It was shot on 35mm Velvia transparency film and comes with a separate caption label with photo and historic information. This photo has appeared in several surfing publications.
It would make a great birthday or holiday gift for someone who likes surfing, ocean, or historic location images of Hawaii.

Pipeline is one the more famous surf breaks in the world, and many professional contests are held there each year.  Its waves are some of the most hollow powerful on earth, generated by far distant North Pacific Ocean storms during the winter months (Sept-March). They are an incredible example of the ocean's mightiness. Native Hawaiians, surfers, and a lot of oriental people consider these magnificent waves to be a supreme example of power and manifested with the spirit of mother nature. To actually see these waves breaking along the shoreline is an awesome, humbling, and unforgettable experience.
