INFO.THAT CAME WITH ITEM WHEN ADDED TO OUR MUSEUM: “DOES NOT GET BETTER THAN THIS ONE. If you collect Hog Scrappers or early Southern Americana, you need this in your collection. The pictures tell the story. I have several in my collection as we all do, but really look at this one. Untouched, the best wear to the carved handle you could ask for. Wood shrinkage great. Very early irregular cut iron nut. Never touched or repaired. It's the best of the best for a Southern 18th century hog scraper. It measures approx. 6 inches high and the bowl is 3 to 3 1/4 inches. Pictures display it well. I love it.
I'm BACK! Took a break from selling my personal collection but I'm back listing great items. I am a collector of many things. Mostly Civil War, Rev War, Indian Artifacts, Red ware, really anything old and cool. I collect 18th century American furniture, primarily Southern too.

party opinion on items SO YOU ARE 100% satisfied BEFORE PLACING A BID! PLEASE DO DUE DILIGENCE and RESEARCH before bidding and please ask ALL questions before bids are placed. Most items are being deaccessioned. At age 70 and after quadruple bypass surgery the grand kids have told me that they have no interest in any of the collections in the family’s traveling museum-- MOCAPA. A bit disappointing to hear but well understood in the 21st century. Plus, for me, collecting lacks the attraction that it had in years past as well as the steward collectors. Thanks, joe
