ead crater in the background. This was a test or survey flight from Guam to test the feasibility of overseas flight to Hawaii. It landed successfully at Ford Island at Pearl Harbor, and pioneered the start of non stop air travel from California, The Pam Am 'China Clipper' flights from the mainland started in November of that year.

Please note: That it is printed on an 8.5 x 11 inch Epson giclee glossy photo paper and the **black line and white margin is part of the print that you can see here and not a matt cut out.
It is also a little grainy as it was copied on 35mm Velvia transparency film from an original hand colored black and white print
, and it looks almost like a painting or watercolor. It is a very nice historic, artistic, and popular photo.
