Description:
A good very fine or better banknote from Hong Kong. This is The Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation 1st September 1963 ten dollars currency note. The banknote which was issued by the "The Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation" and printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co. Ltd. has a dark green design on multicolored and orange underprint with the image of a woman holding sheaf of grain within an oval in the top left corner and the arms of Hong Kong left of center of the front. The back is also dark green on multicolored underprint with the image of a bank building in the center and a winged angel on top. This particular note has the serial number 958342 displayed twice on the front and is series HY. The note has two signatures displayed on the front. It is dated 1st September 1963. The banknote has a watermark located in the squared frame to the left on the back, which displays a helmeted warrior's head with the number 10 under it. Condition:
I would grade this banknote as a good very fine or better with all the details being well preserved. The note has several vertical folds but no horizontal folds that we could see. It also has general wrinkling, some soiling and some staining on the back along the folds and along the edges as well as to the left of the back, all of which can be seen in the scans. The note retains quite a bit of its original stiffness and crispiness. The note is intact with no pinholes and no graffiti. The edges are intact but show some minor roughness especially at the ends of the vertical folds. The note has no tears or splits. The corners are fairly squared, intact with some creasing, folding, and minor bumps as well as some minor rounding, if any. The colors are vivid with no fading.
