Please remember that as a seller, my sales costs also include packaging tape, printer ink, printer paper, shipping supplies, sales tracking and auction listing tools, not to mention the 12-14% that eBay commissions and payment processing take off the top for fees and commissions. In the past our images were made using a scanner or camera at very high resolution, exposing many minor flaws that are NOT visible to the human eye. There is a tendency for scanner images to wash out certain colors such as skintones and not pick up silver or gold tones well. I am currently using an iPhone 14 Pro Max with the app "Photoroom" to remove any background, providing a stellar image of the actual pin. Please know that as these images are also at very high resolution, flaws, marks, and other imperfections not or barely visible to the human eye may be exposed. Having sold pins for 24 years now, it is nigh impossible to find any pin that I would call "perfect". I also remove the outer plastic wrapper in order to give the images a cleaner line and I return them to the wrapper (assuming they had a wrapper) after taking the image.
