    Description

    Dug Revolutionary War cast pewter American or Continental soldier issued French lottery coat button. It has a greyish patina and is in pretty good dug condition with some edge loss and ground wear. The turret back shank is complete. The Continental Congress entered into a contract with several French firms to provide uniforms for our soldiers during the War. These French contract buttons were shipped over c.1777-1778. It measures 23 mm in diameter. This button was dug in the Hudson Highlands, New York.
    The pictures accurately show its condition. I will mail it in a little button case for you so it isn't damaged.
