A Superb quality example in deeply carved and Hallmarked Silver mounts, clam-shell with fabulous scene of a Jaguar attacking the soldier, lovely two-tone bull horn grip. Mounted with a straight single-edged blade bearing engraved hunting scenes and French scripts to both sides of ricasso roughly translating as "Never Draw Me Without Reason" and "Never Sheath Me Without Honor". Solid and overall intact, with its original leather scabbard having restrained steel mounts. Fabulous piece of weapon favored for dress wear by Officers of either side during the American Revolution.
