This is a nice (but older
fair
quality) giclee image of a 1890s hand colored postcard photograph,
cropped, and mounted on an 8x10 inch backing board **which is included as part of the print (see photo)
with caption and photography information on the back of Helumoa which is the original site the Royal Hawaiian Hotel before it was built with Diamond Head crater (historic ancient volcano) in the background, circa 1890's? The caption is wrong, this is not Kapiolani Park, but whomever captioned the original card didn't know better. It is shrink wrapped to protect it from damage and has photography and preservation tips included in the label on the back. It is a popular photo and makes a great gift for kamaaina or visitors here in Hawaii, and comes with complete caption information on the back of the photo. ****Please note that it is fairly grainy in the larger size than the one you see here.

It is printed on 8x10 inch paper from a copy negative and margins may be slightly trimmed. **When it is cropped and attached to the single mat 8x10" backing board you will be able to see the backing board around the borders of the print. It makes the print look like there is a wider margin at the top and bottom edges of the photo which you can see here.
Prints are permanently mounted to the acid free backing board using archival photo adhesive and cannot easily be removed from the backing board without damaging the photo. An 11x14 inch frame (or larger) with a custom cut mat from a frame shop or art store is the suggested way to display this photo. If you want to use a larger frame and mat and you can't find an experienced framer who knows how to do it, contact us and we can provide information explaining how it can be done. This is recommended for best visual and artistic impact in displaying this photo, although many people are happy using a standard 8x10" frame and displaying the image as is.
