How to Build an Epic Display Village DVD
Features
:
This DVD includes simple step-by-step instructions telling how Ken Shirley made a 45-foot display using Styrofoam and foam cutting tools. Ken Shirley is a professional display artist hired by the Department 56 corporation as well as private parties. For over a decade, he has conducted classes and clinics at various stores and Gatherings around the United States. His attention to detail in his displays is only matched by the passion with which he teaches.
This is the essential DVD for any serious collector.
You will learn how to create train tunnels, portals, icicles, water, levels, effective lighting, glaciers, mountains, stairs, bricks, themed props, backdrops and so much more. The instructions are clear and delivered a the perfect pace to keep you engaged. A great video not only for D56 village displays, but for model railroaders, miniature gamers, and other model builders who need to create scenery.
The DVD runs 95 minutes, and is region-free.
Our Hot Wire tools work best on rigid polystyrene foams, also known as expanded polystyrene (also known as EPS, Styrofoam or bead-board foam) and extruded polystyrene foam (also known as XEPS or XPS or insulation foam).
If you are unsure whether or not this tool will cut the foam you intend to cut, please contact us before buying. The Hot Wire tools will cut many kinds of foam, but always check with the foam manufacturer to make sure there are no health or safety hazards when using hot wire tools.
NOTE: Polyurethane foam (aka upholstery foam) should not be cut with hot wire tools. It needs a ton of heat, gives off toxic fumes, and leaves a lot of melted plastic wherever it is cut. We recommend that the polyurethane foams only be cut with a blade or saw.
