Rare Revolutionary War Animal / Dog Head pommel Sword / Hanger Neuman 47.S

Here we offer a rare Revolutionary War Sword . It is a German Hanger / Sword. A nearly identical sword is pictured in the " Bible " on Rev War swords " Swords and Blades of the American Revolution" By George Neumann page 77 ,47.s The hilt is brass mounted with a dark age patina. The pommel has an animal / Dog head design.  The grip is a dark wood. The blade is very robust and wide. It is in great condition for it's age with just some scattered dark age spots . Another rare aspect it is complete with it's black leather scabbard . Very few Rev War swords still have their scabbards . This one has a brass locket with a " Heart ' shaped frog stud . It looks like the leather mid - section was replaced  during it's working life. The one in Neumanns book does not have a scabbard.The overall length is 26" with a 20 1/2" blade.
