A FASCINATING HESSIAN MUSTER ROLL DATED TWO MONTHS AFTER THE BATTLE OF YORKTOWN THAT EFFECTIVELY ENDED THE WAR
The British had a treaty with the Duke of Brunswick and other German princes that allowed the British to hire German mercenaries during the Revolutionary War.  England paid the Germans annual subsidies and other fees for Hessian casualties.  Around 30,000 Germans came to America and fought in almost every campaign of the American Revolution.  A fascinating Hessian muster roll for grenadiers dated two months after the Battle of Yorktown that effectively ended the war.
