Description
This 2" diameter pin was produced for and worn at a teacher conference hosted by Whole Language Umbrella teacher support group in the late 1980s or possibly early 1990s. It has a metal back with the front design attached with a plastic cover. The Whole Language movement (Now called Languages and Literacies for All, a conference of the NCTE) is a child-centered approach based on authentic language use and classroom activity that developed in reaction to staid one-size-fits-all reading textbooks and isolated skills practice.
